Who is Charlie?
Charlie Zeller is a current student at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts pursuing a degree in Lighting Design and Technology with an anticipated graduation in 2029. He is a proud member of IATSE Local 322, Charlotte NC. His work covers all jobs within the Electrics department as a Lighting Designer, ETC Eos Programmer, and Electrician. He most recently designed, programmed, and implemented the lights for Providence Day School’s Peter Pan (PDSZ Theatre: Upper School, 25) which was the school’s entry into the Blumey Awards in Charlotte North Carolina
Other notable designs include Psycho Beach Party (PDS Theatre: Upper School, 24), Radium Girls (PDS Theatre: Upper School, 23), and the Yellow Boat (PDS Theatre: Upper School, 22), where he was awarded Excellence in Design and Production at the NCTC State Festival for two and the regional site for all three. Recent designs also include: How I Became A Pirate: Junior Part (PDS Theatre: Lower School, 23), The Little Mermaid Jr (Creative Kids, 23), and Into the Woods Jr (Creative Kids, 23).
As the Head Electrician, Charlie has managed hang, focus, and implementation of set electrics on all productions since taking on the role. Notable shows include: Peter Pan (PDS Theatre: Upper School, 25), Freaky Friday (PDS Theatre: Upper School, 24), Radium Girls (PDS Theatre: Upper School, 23), Once Upon A Mattress (PDS Theatre: Upper School, 23), and The Yellow Boat (PDS Theatre: Upper School, 22).
