Design Notes and Comments
As my last show at Providence Day and my first upper school musical, Peter Pan was truly something special for me. Taking a classical golden age musical and putting a post-apocalyptic spin on it was challenging yet incredibly rewarding. This show was both an exploration and a learning opportunity in my process as a designer and programmer, and I’m so thankful to Mike for helping me hone that process. In addition to refining my workflow, this production was an experiment in style that allowed me to push boundaries and approach storytelling with light from a new angle.
One notable aspect of this production was it’s extensive use of set electrics to enhance the environment and a sense of magic—one of the best examples of this can be seen in the clip below.
A huge thank you to the entire lighting team; this show would not have been possible without them.
